Welcome to Gigi's Page! This Web site is about Cairn Terriers you know Toto dogs. I made it in memory of my beloved Gigi.
If you live with a Cairn Terrier for a year, you'll
share your home with one for the rest of your life.
Notice that this old saying does not say "If you own a Cairn Terrier" or "you'll have one." There's a reason for that.
Gigi was the blithest, sweetest spirit I ever knew. I called her "The Jeej" or just "Jeej" for short. Jaunty and playful as a puppy all her life, she liked nothing better than to prance and perform antics for me while I clapped and cheered "The Great Jeej!" I lost her on July 11, 2001 at the age of 13 to an eight-year-long battle with diabetes.
Here you will find out about the natural history of the dog, the Cairn breed story, the nature of Cairns, and puppy mills. You will also find links to additional resources along the way and a Doggie Links page. As I have time I plan to add material some purely entertaining stuff, information about Cairns' needs and the Cairn Breed Rescue Association, as well as some tips.
Cairns' terrific personalities are absolutely delightful. But challenging. Those who love this breed are crazy about them. But a Cairn Terrier is not the dog for everyone. Like Jack Russell Terriers and other kinds of terriers, Cairns are not like the mutt you had as a kid. So, here is a Web site and links for those thinking about getting a Cairn Terrier.
Okay, Pierre, now it's your turn. Say, "hello."
Sure enough now he's going to play hard-to-get. You'll have to pet his highness first.
